Welcome to the Scottish Association of Writers (SAW)
The Scottish Association of Writers has been supporting and inspiring writers across Scotland since 1969. We are a community made up of affiliated writers’ clubs from every corner of the country, as well as individual members who share the same passion for creativity, storytelling, and the written word.
Every March, we come together for our Annual Conference at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld – three unforgettable days of joy, learning, and inspiration. With a packed programme of workshops, competitions, and networking, the conference is a highlight of the year for our members. Our guest speakers include celebrated authors, publishing professionals, and experts in their fields, who enthral and motivate our 140+ delegates, making it one of the most vibrant gatherings of writers in Scotland.
