Club Membership - Join SAW
If you are a member of a writers’ group and you would like to be part of a bigger movement throughout Scotland then why not consider joining The Scottish Association of Writers? For over 50 years we have been at the forefront of bringing writing clubs together.
We are a not for profit organisation whose aim is to promote and encourage Creative Writing in every community throughout Scotland. Being part of SAW (Our pet name) would allow your club and its members a chance to be part of our conference and competitions each year.

Annual fees for membership vary depending on the size of the club and are payable for a year commencing from 1st October up until the following 30th September.
Fees should be paid after 30th September each year.
For new members joining within any given year, the fees will vary according to the time of jointing per the following table.
This is largely influenced by the benefit of enabling attendance at the conference and entry to competitions.

Welcome to all writers and writing groups based in Scotland to our organisation the Scottish Association of Writers’. Our aim is to have as many writing groups in Scotland affiliated to our organisation as possible to allow us to share information, inform and expand the writing community by bringing in expertise in the form of Authors, Editors, and many specialists in the field of publishing, storytelling, poetry and and all forms of writing. Additionally there are many writers out there who wish to be part of our organisation but don’t want to or can’t because of logistics, health etc., to be part of a group.
